6 Months

BabySister,

You have clearly decided you want to be a big girl in the last few weeks. You are breaking my heart!

Weight: 17.10 lbs  (75%)

Height: 26 1/4 in  (60%)

Clothing size: 6-9 mo

Diaper size: Three

Feeding: I still feed you on demand. This can be anywhere from 2-6 hours. The more you are teething, the more you want to comfort nurse.

Milestones: You got your first tooth! Teeth actually! Just like your big sister, your first tooth came in on the bottom at 5 1/2 months. Not even a full week later the second one popped through right beside it. You are such a trooper and never fussed. You just increased your comfort nursing.

Loves: You love Mickey Mouse! You love to be outside. You enjoy getting your sunshine! You enjoy when mama lets you lick and chew on something from the dinner table even though you haven't had any baby food yet. You LOVE your big sister! You will sit and watch her for a long time. She makes you laugh a lot.

Dislikes: I can't really think of anything you disliked this month.

Adventures: First Tincaps game! Mama was so excited to take you! You enjoyed watching all the action. You weren't sure at first about the loud noises though. Also you saw your first fireworks there! You were pretty mesmerized.

Mommy could not get through the month without: The Moby wrap and your big sister to help entertain you from time to time.

I tried

These pictures are over a month old.
They came out of random boredom.

Babygirl is at the stage where she refuses to take pictures.
My facebook and Instagram are always updated with photos of Babysister.
But Babygirl.. sigh.
I try my best to load daddy up with pictures of both of them
but it is so hard when every one that I get of Babygirl is the back of her head, the blur of her running away, or her screaming.

I bribed her with Hershey kisses.
That is the only reason I got these smiles.
That is also what is in the corner of her mouth.

Sleeping Beauties

I can't help but sneak into my daughter's rooms every single night after they have fallen asleep.
I love to see their peaceful faces.

No cares. No worries.
Just peace.

I will probably be that mom that peeks in on them in their teens.

First Cereal

In the midst of all the craziness that has been going on..
Babysister is a few days shy of five months old!
Wait...what!?

She is breaking my heart with this fast growing up business.

The past week or so we have noticed her mimicking chewing.
Anytime someone is eating something she stops what she is doing and stares.
She usually puts her tongue in her cheek and starts to act like she is chewing food.

I am not going to start foods with her until after she is six months.
But I figured a little cereal mixed with breastmilk could be a small treat for her.

 But then we started.
And I remembered how much I hate feeding babies. ha
I lucked out with Babygirl because her daddy stayed home with her every day and he was the main one feeding her.

But Babysister was more interested in snatching the spoon and just licking it like a popsicle.

Too big.
Way too big.

4 Months

Four Months Old

BabySister,

You have reached the stage that mommy doesn't care for. You aren't sure whether or not to be a little baby or be a bigger baby. I remember hating this stage with Babygirl. You don't want to lay in your carseat anymore when out in public but you are too young to sit up in a stroller or highchair well. You are just in an awkward inbetween stage.
You grasping and motorskills are continuing to develop well. You love to play with your toys. You like to hold them in your hands and feel them and of course bring every single one straight to your mouth. You have started to reach for mommy's plate or cup at the table and have caused a few accidents there.
You are still the happiest little thing! You are so easy. I'm not sure if it's just because I am more relaxed as a mother because I have done all of this before. I try to take time to revel in you. It's not like when I had Babygirl and I would look forward to all of the milestones. I think I looked ahead so much to make sure I was doing a good job parenting. Like, "Oh she is sitting up now, she is eating solids now." I feel like I rushed her out of the baby stage. But with you, I want you to stay tiny forever and you are growing up too quickly anyway. You want to be big. You want to be up in the action going on. You love to watch your big sister play and run around. You love to watch TV, if there is one on in the room you are close to breaking your neck trying to twist your body around to be able to see.

Weight: 16.2 lbs  (90%)

Height: 25 1/2 in  (90%)

Clothing size: 6-9 mo

Diaper size: Three

Feeding: I just feed you on demand. Sometimes it's every 2 hours and sometimes it can be every 4-5 hours. You still only wake me once in the night to nurse though.

Milestones: You rolled over twice this month and haven't done it again since. You giggled and it melted my heart.

Loves: You still love to be held and cuddled. You love to play with your links and to play in your exersaucer.

Dislikes: Riding in the carseat for too long. You have no problems in the car but when we get somewhere you want out!

Adventures: Cousins birthday partys. Mommy and Daddy's birthdays. First Easter.

Mommy could not get through the month without: Stain remover for your laundry.

Easter 2013

Easter morning I failed as the Easter bunny. Typically Babygirl sleeps really late so I figured I had time to set out the baskets and hide eggs before she woke up. Nope. Not this day. She was awake just minutes after I was. I quickly put the girls' baskets out and left the eggs for later.

After eating about 1/3 of her chocolate, Babygirl finally was willing to get dressed for the day. We headed to Grandpa and Nana's for lunch. We had a fun time with all the cousins. Nana had Easter eggs hidden for all the kids.

After lunch we headed over to my sister's house for my nephew's 5th birthday party. The girls got to spend time with the rest of their cousins.

When we got home for the day around 5:00 I finally was able to hide the eggs outside. The eggs were filled with chocolate kisses and pennies. Babygirl is all about Hershey kisses. She would eat a whole bag of them if I let her! The pennies were for the fountain at the mall. She begs to throw money into the fountain every time we are there.

However. It started to sprinkle outside and we were quickly losing sunshine. Babygirl had been napping for over 2 hours at this point. I tried waking her up but she refused to get out of bed. I swear she is a teenager trapped in a toddler's body. The rain picked up so I had to run outside and bring the eggs in. I was frustrated at this point and so over the day. So I just dumped the chocolate into her Easter basket, put her money into a cup and called it a day.

Easter Bunny fun

On Good Friday we made a trip to see the Easter Bunny. I had to wake up Babygirl for this, which started the day off badly. She is ridiculously grumpy if you interrupt her sleep. I swear she is a fifteen year old trapped inside a toddler body.

Once we got to the conservatory I realized this was a lot bigger deal than it usually is. I'm not sure if everyone in the city decided at once that the Easter Bunny at the mall charges crazy prices for pictures but the place was swarmed today. $5 admission and take pictures yourself? That's my kind of deal.

Babygirl refusing to smile before we left the house.

BabySister waiting in line.

I got this!
