Zoo Day

Our first trip to the zoo this year. We bought a season pass so we will be making lots of trips there this summer!
BabySister starting out the day. Today was her first trip ever! :)

She loved the alligator! She watches Swamp People on tv with her MoMo.

Taking a little snack break.

I had to add this picture because it reminded me of when hubby graduated from basic training in 2006 and we went to the zoo. The giant tortoises were getting freaky. Funniest thing I've ever seen!

Lily's favorite part of the whole day was when she got to go and pet the goats. She was loving that she got to touch them and brush them. They had just eaten so we couldn't give them any food. I'm sure she will be excited to feed them on our next trip.

She was pretty upset when it was time to move to a new exhibit. The girl was playing with the goats for a good half hour at least!

Hyena

Lion.

She didn't want to take a picture with BabySister and I so we sat on her. :)

I adore this picture! As soon as I saw her standing this way to see the hyena today, I knew I had to take a picture. What a huge difference two years makes! My girl is so big!

Zoo Day

This past weekend babygirl and I went to the Zoo with my in-laws.
After fighting with her to wake up early on a Saturday, we made it close to on time.

All the kids started out happy and excited for the day.

The morning continued to get warmer.
But babygirl was thrilled to see the animals.
I helped point them out in their cages and she would get so excited once she spotted them.

A white stork.
I told babygirl this is where babies come from!
Of course she's too young to understand what I meant.
She just laughed and yelled "BIRD!"

Babygirl had such a good time with her cousins.
She's usually pretty picky about people that mess with her.
It takes a long time for her to warm up to people.
We could hang out with the same people day after day and it still takes a good hour or so for her to be okay enough for them to mess with her.

The hours kept passing quickly and I kept having to give her different snacks
to hold her over.
We were starving!
A too hot toddler and hot hungry pregnant lady is a dangerous combination!

There were 3 giraffes total.
Two of them were pretty keen on each other.
I'm pretty sure some frisky business was about to go down.
Not gonna lie..
That probably would've been a sight!

These 2 photos are amazing.
Lily typically isn't very keen on men.
She's basically not a huge fan of loud guys.
This includes both of her grandpas.

This day, however, her Grandpa asked if she wanted to go on the boat ride.
I hesitated because I didn't want the ride to be miserable for everyone else
since I didn't want to go.
He seemed willing and so I handed her over and waved bye.
She went without a fuss.
I was so shocked.

She smiled and waved for pictures.
Which I couldn't get any good ones because there is no where good to stand.
He said she did great on the whole ride.

I know this one is a terribly bad shot,
but look at those smiles!

I was a proud mama.

Zoo Day

Two Thursdays ago we took babygirl to the zoo for the first time. Let me tell ya, we only went because we had a gift certificate. The three of us got in for just $6.00. If we didn't have a gift card it would've been $26 to get in! Kids under 1 year are free. I think the zoo has majorly ridiculous pricing. Hopefully the zoo doesn't become one of babygirl's favorite things.
Here are some shots of our day.

It was awesome how close this pelican was to the fence.
However, it wasn't awesome that babygirl wouldn't look at the camera!
 Storks.
When it comes time to have 'The Talk' with babygirl, we are going to show her this picture
and tell her that all the babies come from the stork at our local zoo. ;)
