First birthday flashback

While we've been bouncing from house to house to sleep while our power has been out,
I came across some photos from babygirl's first birthday party.
I remember being SO bummed by not handing my camera to someone to snap away the day!
I had just a few on my cell phone, which I actually lost recently due to a change in phone services.

Oh my, how the time flies!
Here in just 3 short months my baby will be two!
It is seriously unbelievable.
Even more than that, she is going to be a big sister!

I can't wait to see what God and life holds in store for my two precious girls.
I am so excited to see babygirl interact with a little sister.

God knew exactly what I needed when He blessed me with my amazing firstborn.
He is SO good.
And He is always right on time.

Gender Reveal Party

This past weekend we announced the gender of our baby!
We had both of our families over to share the news.

Since the power has been out at our house due to a thunderstorm/tornado we had to move the party to my parents house. It was hard to try and bake the reveal cake with a bunch of people around! I had to sneakily put the food coloring into the cake and attempt to hide it before I iced the cake.

I know this one is blurry, but I love her expression.

IT'S A GIRL!

The big sister enjoying her yummy pink cake.

Family watching the ultrasound on DVD.

The gender reveal party was such a fun time.
As soon as everyone arrived, they were all asking if we were having dessert first.
I lost count of how many people asked if they could put their finger in the icing..."accidentally of course".
While we were eating everyone was still guessing what gender baby was.
They were asking different questions to try and get me to slip up and spill the beans.
I definitely would have another reveal party for any future kiddos.
It was just too much fun.

Photo Dump

A few photos from the day of the first birthday party!!

1. The morning of the party I ran in the city's annual Fort4Fitness. There were different categories. As much as I would love to lie and say I ran the half marathon... I will be honest and say that I walk/ran the 4 mile with my dad and my pregnant sister. The pic is us crossing the finish line. It was so fun to cross with them. We held hands and were very dramatic as we finished. ha.

2. Babygirl was at home with a friend of mine while hubby and I were setting up for the party. She literally fell asleep standing up. I got this text to me and I just died laughing. Poor girl couldn't take the excitement anymore!

3. One out of the five =( pictures that I have of the party. Babygirl tore into her cake like she was a pro. She ate about half of it before she crashed. Then instantly she was upset and wanted to be clean. She had so much icing on her hands and she kept rubbing it into her hair and in her ears! I seriously cleaned icing out of her left ear for 2 days after the party. Gross!

4. Bedtime after the party. We had a family princess moment after reading her bedtime story.

Party prep

We are getting down to just a few days until babygirl's big birthday bash!!
(Be prepared for a major photo-dump after the party)
I have been in major party prep the last 2 weeks.
With the supply buying, food buying, decoration making I have been a busy bee!

I am so excited to have made a majority of her decorations for the party.
I'm also glad we decided not to go with a character theme party.
Hubby and I decided that our kids will have to come up with a fun party theme
that isn't character related for all of their birthdays.
We think this will be more fun and also a cheaper route.
(Just don't tell them we said that in the future.)

This past weekend I made all the party favors for the guests.
I made chocolate suckers that say
I'm 1.
This gave me flashbacks to my sister's wedding.
Where I was volunteered to make all the chocolate favors.
For like, 500 people.
This is not an exaggeration, folks.
I think for once in my life, I hated even the sight of chocolate after that.
But believe me, that was easy to get over. =)

Here is a little preview for those of you reading who will be at the party.

And of course I have to leave you with a cute one..
Balloon was courtesy of my soon-to-be sister-in-law.
This lasted all of... 5 minutes or so
