Care Package -Baking Style

So a higher up in hubby's office has requested no-bake cookies from me.
I thought it was funny and rather random that I was the chosen one to make them.
I am pretty sure I haven't baked anything from scratch in about a year or so.

I figured since I was going to bake, I might as well make a day of it.
I invited a friend over and we got to baking.

No-Bake Cookies
Peanut Butter Fudge
Rice Krispie Treats

I figured all of these will be able to last the 5-7 days it takes to get delivered to Afghanistan.

I included a box specifically for the person requesting the cookies.
I wrote: 'For the OLD MAN.
Baked with love while I was in labor.'

All of the goodies packed up to go. I put them all in Ziploc containers but also wrapped in plastic wrap and some foil. There is still a part of me that was paranoid they would all be gross by the time hubby received it. I cut up the rice krispies and wrapped them individually and stacked them in between all of the containers to decrease any shifting or movement while being delivered.
I also threw this shirt in the top of the box for hubby.
While at Wal-Mart, babygirl saw this shirt and starting hollering about Santa Claus.
So since my hubby is a t-shirt guy, I figured it would make him laugh.
Especially knowing that babygirl was excited over it.
It's the $5 randomness that I love to send him. :)

Holiday Baking

Whoa. Unexpected blogger break.
I really don't know how that happened.
Okay, I'm lying. I know exactly how it happened.
1. Hubby and I discovered a new show on Netflix called Storage Wars.
We have watched every available episode and even downloaded another season.
2. I've been reading like crazy. I've started the Hunger Games series and am (impatiently) waiting for Christmas to receive the next book of the series. OMG it is amazing. I've also started reading the Harry Potter series which my brother found at garage sales and Goodwill all throughout this year. I like the movies so much that I decided to read the books.

Otherwise. I guess I've just been lazy. Preparing for Christmas and doing all sorts of fun things. We had our yearly holiday baking day this past weekend. So fun! It is definitely one of the traditions I love. AND! Score mommy points for this gal! I actually had my camera.

Cortney and Alivia starting on some chocolate covered pretzels.
My momma multi-tasking.
Two of us told her to just stir.
Usually her job is just to wash all the pots and pans.
She is clearly not a baker.
Joe baking mini cupcakes

Uncle Joe and my girl!
Ella starting on fudge.

Lily making friends with Aspen
She fed her all day long.

Christmas presents from Dr. B
Everyone was a fan.

Except babygirl.

It was such a fun day. It's hard to believe that just last year, babygirl spent the whole day on the couch in someone's arms. She was just 8 weeks old at the time.

Pea cupcakes?

There's a growing girl in my house.
Her name is Lily.
But she goes by babygirl on this ol' blog here.

This girl can literally eat us out of the house!
I'd say half of my grocery bill is for her.
I'm not sure how this is all going to work when she gets a bit older.
When she can actually pick what she wants to have for her meals.

She currently LOVES peas!
She has a cup of peas for lunch or dinner.
Babygirl eats every last one.
Does hubby eat peas?
No, not really.
Do I eat peas?
Absolutely not!
Next summer I am going to give her frozen peas as a snack.
I've heard from numerous people that these are amazing.
People eat them like candy.
Peas as candy?
Sure, if babygirl thinks so. This is perfectly fine with me!
It's better than M&M's.

So while babygirl is snacking away on her peas
I will be eating things like this..

pinning butterfingers

My obsession with Pinterest has led to some awesome recipes and crafts.

These were so awesome! Butterfingers are my very favorite candy bar.
The recipe was SO easy.
I decided it was time to stop just pinning things and actually put them to use! There is a whole list of yummies I want to make! Hence, one of my boards is titled, 'Yummies to make'.
Hopefully I will get around to trying all of these recipes. It would be nice to turn it into a checklist of sorts.

Feel free to follow any of my boards!
